My journey with Yowies began at a young age when I stumbled upon a plaster cast of a massive yowie footprint in a quaint shop nestled in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, Australia. It was a defining moment that sparked a lifelong fascination with these elusive creatures. I can still vividly recall the sense of wonder and curiosity that filled me as my mother explained what a Yowie was and assured me that they were no laughing matter.

As I grew older, my interest in Yowies only intensified. I joined the Australian Army as an infantry soldier in the late 1990s, and I found myself immersed in the rugged beauty of the Australian bush. Weeks spent on remote exercises provided ample opportunity for encounters with the unknown. Though I considered myself invincible in those days, there were moments when the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and I couldn't shake the feeling that we were not alone out there.

It was during this time that I began to hear whispers of Yowie sightings from trusted comrades. At first, I dismissed them as the tales of seasoned soldiers looking to spook the rookies. However, as more stories emerged, I couldn't ignore the possibility that there might be some truth to these encounters. These were men I was training to go into battle with, and their accounts carried a weight that couldn't be easily dismissed.

My interest in Yowies then lead me down the rabbit hole of cryptozoology. What started as a childhood fascination evolved into a quest for answers, fuelled by the stories of those who had encountered these mysterious beings firsthand. Inspired by the likes of the legendary Canadian outdoorsman Steve Isdahl from HowToHunt.com, whose unflinching honesty on the Sasquatch topic and his dedication to getting the people’s voice heard resonated deeply with me. I set out to create a platform where the truth could be explored without fear of ridicule and for people to purchase Yowie & Sasquatch related gear that might spark a life-changing conversation.
